Rosewood Property Company-Dallas, TX

How did you get your job?

Like many of my fellow law students, my summer began with the rescission of my original summer internship. Shortly after receiving this news, I was selected for the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers (DAYL) Law Student Summer Program. This program was created by the DAYL Board of Directors in an effort to help law students affected by the COVID-19 crisis.

This incredible new program allows law students to attend webinars on various legal topics, pairs each law student with a mentor, gives students the opportunity to attend virtual court proceedings all over the state of Texas, and places a law student with a firm/company in their field of interest for a virtual summer internship. For the summer I was placed with Rosewood Property Company. Rosewood Property Company is a Dallas-based real estate investment company that specializes in land, multi-family, storage, office, and industrial property law.

How do you think this experience has helped you in your career path?

I was incredibly fortunate to work with Senior Counsel on office leasing contracts. This experience has helped me along my career path because I was able to utilize the classroom knowledge that I learned at St. Mary’s and apply that knowledge to real-life situations. I am grateful for this opportunity and appreciate both the DAYL and Rosewood Property Company for allowing me to gain valuable legal experience.
