Mary Alison Nixon

Associate Service Professor in Law

 

Biography

Mary Alison Nixon, (J.D. ’10), began her professional teaching career at St. Mary’s Law School in the Office of Law Success in 2017. She has taught Legal Methods, Bar Preparation for Credit, served on the creation committee and later as Team Lead for Legal Communication, Analysis, and Professionalism (LCAP). Nixon is also teaching Arrest Procedures and Due Process with the Master of Jurisprudence Program.

A 2010 St. Mary’s Law School graduate, Nixon joined the Bexar County Criminal District Attorney’s Office where she served till 2017 and then again from 2021-2023. As a prosecutor, Nixon tried over forty misdemeanor and felony cases. During her time at Bexar, Nixon mentored new prosecutors, served on the new hire training committee and presented training workshops. In 2020, Nixon also served as prosecutor for the 81st Judicial District Attorney’s Office.

Nixon graduated from the Bexar County Women’s Bar Association LEAD Academy in 2020 and is an active volunteer in her children’s school through the PTA.
