Perez came to St. Mary’s in 2016 after more than a decade in admissions and recruiting, most recently as associate dean for admissions and financial aid at Texas Tech University School of Law.

A native of Falfurrias, Texas, Perez has presented to groups across the country on all aspects of the admissions and recruitment processes, and was the first law school admissions dean to openly engage directly with prospective applicants through online communities. While at the University of Idaho College of Law, Perez served on the “Second Century Committee,” tasked with the consideration and development of a second satellite campus of the law school.

Perez was one of the founding faculty of StMU Law’s nationally recognized Law Success Program. He has taught first-year and second-year students, as well as assisted recent graduates with the bar exam. Perez was honored by the Board of Barristers as the “Judge of the Year” in 2018.
