Perez came to St. Mary’s in 2016 after serving six years as associate dean for admissions and financial aid at Texas Tech University School of Law. A native of Falfurrias, Texas, he earned a degree in Political Science from Texas A&M University and later graduated from the University of Texas School of Law. He also spent six years at the University of Idaho College of Law, first as their sole admissions officer and later as a development officer.
Perez has presented at numerous conferences on all aspects of the admissions and recruitment processes, and was the first law school admissions dean to openly participate on Top-Law-Schools.com’s forums.
He has served on several Law School Admissions Council committees, including misconduct and irregularities in the admissions process, which handles allegations of misconduct related to the admissions and testing process, and as a faculty member at the annual Newcomers’ Workshop.
Most recently, he was part of a select group chosen from applicants across the university to participate in the President’s Leadership Institute at Texas Tech University.
