After obtaining her J.D. from Texas Tech University School of Law, Clegg served as a law clerk to the Honorable Nancy M. Koenig, United States Magistrate Judge for the Northern District of Texas. While clerking for Judge Koenig, Clegg worked on social security appeals and prisoner civil rights litigation.
As a law student at Texas Tech, she was a member of the Texas Tech Law Review, where she served as a Comment Editor and her student comment was selected for publication. Her comment has since been cited in several publications, including the Harvard Law Review. She also served as a Teaching Fellow for the Legal Practice Program, a Student Ambassador and was inducted into the Order of the Coif. Prior to attending law school, she worked as a program coordinator in the nonprofit sector, including at the American Red Cross and Volunteers of America of Oklahoma.
