Velazquez helps students with stress management, relationship building and wellness at the law school and beyond. Prior to joining the School of Law's Academic and Students Affairs office she worked for the law school's Center for Legal and Social Justice. She is a licensed professional counselor and completed the 3,000 hours of direct counseling required by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors. She taught a student success class as part of the Student Development Department at San Antonio College. She also presented the Memory, Attention, and Problem Solving Skills (MAPSS) research project for people with Multiple Sclerosis for the University of Texas in Austin at the local MS Society.
